A relaxed morning capturing community with The Mum Club in South Kensington

The transition into motherhood is a season that reshapes our days, often calling for a new kind of community that understands both the quiet joys and the unique exhaustion of those early months. Recently, I had the pleasure of documenting a beautiful morning with The Mum Club Kensington & Chelsea - a wonderful group dedicated to connecting local mothers over honest conversation and good food.

As a West London event and lifestyle photographer, capturing real, unscripted connection is at the heart of my work. Held in the light-filled dining room of Lina Stores in South Kensington, this brunch was a masterclass in modern motherhood community, offering women a welcoming space to step out of the house, sit down, and find their village.

When photographing an event like this, my focus is entirely on atmosphere and authenticity. I look for the genuine, unforced interactions that make these meet-ups so vital: shared laughter over a hot coffee, hands resting on baby prams, and quiet solidarity between women walking the exact same path. Lina Stores provided a calm, pastel backdrop, but the true energy in the room came from the open hearts and shared stories of the local Kensington and Chelsea mums.

Adding to the curated feel of the morning was a popup display by Initialled, a brand crafting delicate, hand-stamped personalised jewellery. For mothers, jewellery often carries a deep emotional weight - a tangible piece of our children's story to keep close every day. Photographing the mums browsing these hand-crafted keepsakes offered a lovely detail layer to the narrative of the morning.

Events like this are a natural extension of my in-home family photography. It’s all about documenting the wider village that helps us raise our children and celebrating the local spaces where we find our footing as mothers.
