Event Spotlight: Midweek Brunch with The Mum Club at Lina Stores, South Kensington

An authentic morning of connection, smocked details, and community in South Kensington.

If you ever need a reminder of how powerful a room full of supportive women can be, look no further than a local The Mum Club gathering. Recently, I had the pleasure of joining The Mum Club Kensington & Chelsea to document their monthly brunch club - a bright, uplifting morning filled with good food, genuine conversation, and much-needed connection.

This month’s setting was the iconic Lina Stores in South Kensington. The venue's signature pastel mint interiors and light-filled atmosphere provided an effortlessly beautiful backdrop for lifestyle event photography. From the moment everyone arrived, the room was buzzing as local mothers settled in for hot coffee, delicious food, and open chat about the realities of early parenthood.

Adding a special detail to the morning was a popup showcase by local childrenswear brand Cute Couture London. Mums browsed a stunning selection of their signature hand-smocked dresses - intricate, heirloom-quality pieces designed for little ones aged 6 months to 8 years. Documenting these tactile, artisanal details offered a lovely layer to the story of the morning, celebrating both local craftsmanship and community support.

As a West London event and family photographer, my focus is always on capturing the real, unscripted moments that make these gatherings so vital: knowing smiles shared across the table, a friend holding a baby so a mother can eat with both hands, and the palpable sense of relief when you step into a room where everyone simply gets it.
