A new baby transforms the atmosphere of a home almost overnight. The pace slows to a crawl, and the morning belongs entirely to quiet snuggles on the sofa and watching your newborn while they sleep.
For this at-home newborn photoshoot in Greenwich, we kept everything blissfully low-key. Nestled in a light-filled nursery framed by deep sage walls, wooden shelves stacked with books, and a textured cream bouclé armchair, this newborn baby boy napped soundly in his mother's arms.
Rather than awkward posing or rigid studio setups, an in-home baby photoshoot allows room for the real, understated magic of early parenthood to breathe naturally. We captured plenty of candid moments throughout the morning - from dad cradling his newborn son in the master bedroom, to mum resting a gentle kiss on his forehead whilst he took in the world around him.
Every corner of the home offered a canvas for these early memories, utilising the natural architecture of the space, from cosy nooks beneath bookshelves to sunlight pouring down the stairwell. Even the family dog was an integral part of the morning, spending his time stretched out on the wooden floorboards and keeping a watchful eye on his newest little human.
As a family photographer in South East London, my aim is always to capture an intimate time capsule of your home exactly as it feels right now - warm, personal, and serene. A natural baby photoshoot isn't about perfection; it is about preserving the profound tenderness of this fleeting season.
