There is a real stillness that enters a house when a baby arrives. The world outside slows right down, and your entire universe shrinks to the size of this tiny, perfect little person. Recently, I spent a beautiful morning in East Dulwich capturing a newborn photoshoot with first-time parents navigating those precious early weeks.
Arriving a few weeks earlier than expected, he had already given his parents a bit of a whirlwind start. But by the time I arrived for their in-home newborn session, he was completely settled, peaceful, and content in his parents' arms.
Their East Dulwich home was a dream to shoot in - wonderfully light, airy, and full of soft morning sun. As an in-home newborn photographer, I don’t bring heavy studio setups or artificial lights into your space. Instead, we simply chase the best natural light from room to room, keeping the whole morning relaxed and completely baby-led.
Because an authentic baby photoshoot at home should feel effortless, there was zero pressure. We paused whenever we needed for feeds, changes, and quiet cuddles, focusing entirely on the unscripted moments you’ll want to remember years down the line.
