There is an undeniable, quiet magic to those first few months with a new baby. It’s a blur of slow mornings, coffee left forgotten on the kitchen counter, and the realisation of just how rapidly your whole world is shifting. Recently, I spent a peaceful morning in Clapham capturing an in-home newborn photography session with a mother and her eight-week-old baby boy.

A lot of parents worry they’ve missed their chance if they don't book a photoshoot in the first two weeks. But an in-home newborn session at two months offers something completely unique. At eight weeks, babies are waking up to the world around them. During our shoot, this sweet boy was actively tracking his mum's face, bathed in the soft natural window light, and giving us those first little conscious smiles.
