Stepping into a family’s home on a quiet morning to capture the natural rhythm of their day is always an honour. For this recent in-home family photoshoot in South London, I spent a lovely morning documenting parents and their two little girls—a vibrant three-year-old big sister and her fourteen-month-old baby sister.
Our morning started tucked away in the living room, letting the girls settle into the session at their own gentle pace. Big sister was full of sweet, mischievous energy, leaning over the back of the sofa to shower her baby sister with tickles and giggles. Captured in soft, natural window light, these unscripted sibling moments set a quiet, grounded tone for the rest of our time together, creating effortless lifestyle family portraits that feel completely authentic.
As the morning went on, we drifted into the kitchen, where real family life unfolded naturally. In true toddler fashion, big sister was eager to help make drinks at the island, leading to a delightfully playful moment licking squash right off the ice cube tray while Mum and Dad looked on with laughter. It’s often these unprompted, messy little rituals that end up holding the most nostalgic weight when looking back years down the line.
To end our time together, we stepped outside into the garden for a breath of fresh air. Walking barefoot along the stone path, Mum held baby sister nestled tightly in her arms while big sister crouched down to explore the hydrangeas in the flower beds. Framed by muted florals, crisp white cottons, and soft linen tones, every frame felt intimately connected, calm, and entirely them.
