As an in-home newborn and family photographer, one of my absolute favourite parts of the job is stepping inside homes across London - each with its own distinct character. I have a soft spot for spaces that hold history while still feeling warmly lived-in. Recently, I spent a morning in Greenwich capturing a 6-month baby milestone session inside a breathtaking period home. With its grand sash windows and beautifully curated interior design, it was an absolute dream to photograph.
The family had done an extraordinary job with the interiors, thoughtfully layering textures, vintage-inspired wallpaper, tailored upholstery, and warm wooden tones. From the sweetest nursery complete with a patterned armchair to built-in shelving packed with family books, every corner had a story to tell. Shooting in a space like this allows us to embrace shadow and soft natural light, creating timeless portraits that feel like art.
Six months is one of my favourite ages to document. The sleepy newborn haze has transitioned into genuine interaction and curiosity, with baby's personality really starting to shine through. Throughout our morning together, this little girl sat up proudly in her nursery chair, giggled on the sofa with her parents, and balanced happily on her dad's shoulders. Moving slowly through the house - from quiet window seat moments to relaxed cuddles in the living room - meant we captured the true essence of their family life.
